Upsurge in COVID 19 cases in Kano, as infection toll hits 2170 in Nigeria

There has been an up surge in COVID 19 cases in Kano State.

According to the daily infection toll update released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Kano has surpassed all other states, including Lagos State in the number of daily infection rate.

In the NCDC daily update for May 1, the country recorded a total of 238 new cases, while Lagos which usually records very high number of daily infection rates, dropped drastically from its usually 80 to 87 cases daily to now 30, same cannot be said of Kano and the FCT.

Kano had since April 30 jumped from its usual daily infection rate of between 5 and 24 to 80, and then moved higher to account for 92 cases of the 238 new cases recorded in the country on May 1, while FCT came second in distant 36 cases, followed by Lagos at 30 cases.
