KHYBER: Unidentified armed men on Saturday gunned down the former commander of a banned militant group in Bara tehsil of the Khyber district on Saturday, official sources said.
Sources said that on Said Noor,who was ex-commander of Mangal Bagh led banned militants group Lashkar-e-Islam(LI), was on its way to home when unknown gunmen opened fire on him in Argalinadi area of Shalobar.
Said Noor was seriously injured in the attack who was later taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Soon after the incident, the police reached the spot and launchd search but no arrest was made yet.
Local sources that he had surrendered to the security forces years before and he went to Saudi Arabia where he was doing private job.
