Two women injured, others escape in Anambra auto crash

Two female passengers sustained varying degrees of injury in a motor accident at Umuerim Village, along Igboukwu-Aguluzoigbo road in Anaocha Local Government of Anambra State.

The accident which occurred around 5.10pm involved an ash coloured Toyota Camry and a green coloured Toyota Camry.

The DAILY VENDOR learnt that the injured were rushed to an unknown hospital by sympathizers before the arrival of the FRSC rescue team.

The Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Pascal Anigbo confirmed the incident, attributing it to excessive speed.

He said, “A serious Road Traffic Crash involving an ash coloured Toyota Camry with registration number SMK692GA and a green coloured Toyota Camry with registration number APP279FC was recorded at Umuerim Village, along Igboukwu-Aguluzoigbo road.

“A total of Four(4) people(2 male adults and 2 female adults) were involved in the crash, which was reportedly caused by Excessive Speed and Loss of Control.

“The two females involved sustained some degree of injuries. No death was recorded. The injured victims were rushed to an unknown hospital by sympathizers, before the arrival of the FRSC rescue team from Igboukwu Unit Command. The team cleared the obstruction caused and ensured free flow of traffic.

“The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi admonishes drivers to always drive within stipulated driving limits, applying common sense speed limits, especially within built-up areas. Most Road Traffic Crashes are avoidable.”
