Two killed as gunmen attack college of education in Lagos

A lecturer and a student have been shot dead by unknown gunmen at Michael Otedola College of Primary Health Education in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The attack was confirmed by officials of the college on Sunday.

According to them, the two, a student, Razak Bakare, and a lecturer, Ahmed Saheed, were killed within 48 hours intervals.

The lecturer was said to have been killed around Poka town in Epe, while the student was shot dead on campus.

The situation it was learnt created panic on the university campus.

“The student was killed on campus on Wednesday and the lecturer was shot dead on Friday. we have informed the police,” a security official in the college told our correspondent.

When asked if the attackers were cultists, the official said, “No one knows their identity. They just killed and left.”

Efforts to reach the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, proved abortive as of the time of filing this report.
