Two kidnappers shot dead during gun battle with Police in Imo

Operatives of the Imo state police command have gunned down two kidnap suspects during a gun battle at the kidnappers den, at Umuokpo Emeabiam in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state on Monday June, 8, 2020.

The DAILY VENDOR gathered that the police operatives later over powered the kidnappers, rescued their victims unhurt and arrested the rest of the gang members.

Names of the suspects were given as, Samson Okoroafor, thirty-one years old, from Obinkita Arochukwu LGA in Abia state, Emmanuel Sunday, twenty-eight years old, from Isiala Ngwa south of Abia state and Uchendu, from Ebonyi state.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect were, two Ak47 rifles, ninety rounds 7.62 live ammunition, Ash coloured Vento Volkswagen car with Reg. No. PF 637 ENU, Hammer, Matches, chair and rope.

According to, Cp Akinmoyede, Sequel to the kidnap of one Ejemonu Emmanuel Izuchukwu, Emmanuel Egom and Chijioke Amadi, all of Imo State, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit immediately swung into action. Upon painstaking and discreet investigation, they stormed the hideout of the hoodlums at Umuokpo, Emeabiam in Owerri West LGA.

On sighting the operatives, the hoodlums engaged them in gun battle and after the gun duel, two of the suspects sustained fatal bullet wounds as a result of which they gave up the ghost. The third suspect was arrest alive and is cooperating with the operatives in their investigation.
