Two injured as tipper, ford clash in Anambra

Two persons were seriously injured while one escaped in a motor accident at Igbariam Junction, along Nteje-Awka expressway.

The accident which occurred around 9.05am involved a Mercedes Benz 1513 Tipper and a black coloured Ford Edge.

The crash was reportedly caused by Wrongful Overtaking.

Confirming the incident, Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Pascal Anigbo said no death was recorded in the crash.

He said, “At about 9.05am today Tuesday 4 August, 2020 a serious Road Traffic Crash involving a Mercedes Benz 1513 Tipper with registration number JJT861XA and a black coloured Ford Edge with enlistment number KWC89AU was recorded at Igbariam Junction, along Nteje-Awka expressway.

“Three (3) adult males. Two (2) sustained some degree of injuries. No death was recorded.

“The injured victims were rushed to Chira Hospital, Awkuzu by FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command. Traffic control is on going at the crash scene, while arrangement is being made for clearing of the obstruction caused.

“he Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi admonishes motorists to always drive defensively and tolerate other road users.

“Drivers should overtake only when it is safe to do so. He wishes the injured victims quick recovery.”
