Two persons sustained varying degrees of injury in a head-on collision on top of Aroma flyover, along Awka-Enugu expressway, Anambra State.
The accident which occurred around 10.30pm on Saturday, involved a Toyota Camry and a Lexus SUV.
The Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Pascal Anigbo, who confirmed the incident to The DAILY VENDOR, attributed it to Route Violation.
He said, “At about 10.30pm on Saturday 13 June, 2020 a serious Road Traffic Crash caused by a Toyota Camry with registration number KJA376GB, which drove against traffic (Route Violation) was recorded on top of the flyover (bridge) at Aroma, along Awka-Enugu expressway.

“The other vehicle involved, which got rammed into, was a Lexus SUV with registration number PBT836SL.
“According to eyewitnesses, Three (3) adult males were involved in the crash. Two sustained some degrees of injuries and were rushed to an unknown hospital. No death recorded.
“Meanwhile, the obstruction caused has been cleared by FRSC rescue team from Anambra State Sector Command, Awka. They also towed the vehicles to “B” Division (NPF), Awka.
“The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, *CC Andrew A. Kumapayi* strongly warns motorists against violating Road Safety Rules and Regulations, as they have been put in place for the safety of lives and properties.
“It is also imperative that road users obey the curfew rules and other directives, imposed by government, to curb the spread of COVID-19.”
