No fewer than thirteen persons were seriously injured in a serious road accident at Okija, along Ihiala- Onitsha road, Anambra state.
The accident involved a white Toyota Hiace bus and a Toyota sienna Space bus.
Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, Andrew Kumapayi confirmed the incident.
He said, “Thirteen (13) people got injured in a serious crash involving a white Toyota Hiace bus with registration number SSM 880 ZJ and a Toyota sienna Space bus with registration number GEA 29 AW which occurred at Okija, along Ihiala- Onitsha road.
“According to eyewitnesses, a total of Thirteen (13) people consisting of (8) Male adults and (5) female adults who were involved in the Crash sustained varying degree of injuries and were rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala by FRSC rescue team from Ihiala Unit Command.
“Road obstruction is being cleared by the combined team of FRSC and NPF.”
While wishing the injured victims quick recovery, the FRSC boss admonished motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and to abide by speed limits and lane discipline.
