While Janmashtami is celebrated in the city of Dehradun, the capital of Indian state Uttarakhand, on the other hand a heart-wrenching incident is coming to the fore.
Today, Monday, a house collapsed in Kotda Birsani of Sahaspur police station area of Vikasnagar.
Two children were said to be trapped under the rubble of the house.
The Daily Vendor Newspaper however learnt that one of the victims has been pulled out from the rubble safely.
The rescue operation is going on to save the other 6-year-old child.
There has been a stir in the area and locals are praying for the child’s well being.
The shocking incident happened due to the collapse of the pillar of the newly constructed house.
An eyewitness who spoke to our correspondent said two children were buried under the rubble. Both children were on the roof of one old house under that new house which collapsed suddenly.
The local Police team and the disaster control team have reached the spot and immediately commenced rescue operation. During the rescue, an 8-year-old girl Aastha was rescued safely. but the 6-year-old boy Aarav is still trapped in the house. However, efforts are being made to rescue him.
The girl Aastha is scared by the incident. She has been pulled out safely by digging a tunnel from behind the house.
The team is facing all the difficulties to save the second child. It is said that the plaster work was going on in the house at the time of the collapse. The working laborers however saved their lives by running away.
