Truck driver, passenger survive brake failure accident in Anambra

Two persons survived a lone accident at Mmili Nnobi, along Nnewi-Nnobi road, Anambra state.

The accident which occurred around 9.12am, involved a Mark truck with the two victims on board.

Confirming the incident, Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Pascal A. Anigbo said no injury nor death was recorded.

He said, “A Mack Truck, without registration number was involved in a lone Road Traffic Crash, at Mmili Nnobi, along Nnewi-Nnobi road, at about 9.12am today Tuesday 11 August, 2020.

“The crash which also involved Two (2) male adults was reportedly caused by “Brake Failure.

“FRSC rescue team from Nnewi Unit Command are on ground managing traffic, while effort to clear the obstruction caused is in top gear.

“The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, Andrew Kumapayi reiterates the importance of vehicle owners and drivers to ensure that their vehicles are in perfect working condition before embarking on any trip.

“Particular interest should be paid on the braking systems of vehicles, especially articulated vehicles. Road Traffic Crashes are preventable.”
