Tribal Journalists Played Vital Role In Peace – Barrister Saif

…Promises to resolve tribal journalists’ problems

PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif on Thursday said that the nation would remeber the sacrifices rendered by journalists for the sake of home land in Pakistan. 

Barrister Saif was talking to the delegation of Tribal Union of Journalists(TUJ) at his office. TUJ interm prisedent Qazi Fazalullah led tge delegation. Journalists from all merged tribal districts and Frontier Regions(FRs) were also present.

Barrister Saif said that they were awared of the journamists’ problems and issues they face.

Barister Saif  said the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was taking keen interest to address the journalists community problems.

Saif said they would resolve tribal journalists problems. He said professional training was a must for a disciplined and professionalism. He said the Orakzay journalist’s issue with PTI lawmaker would be would be resolved soon. 

He said tribal journalists played a vital role in peace keeping in the ex-Fata areas. He added that a number of journalists lost their lives while dozens others wounded in militancy related incidents in erstwhile Fata. 

He said a large number of journalists fled from their hometowns to save their life due to militancy. 

The CM advisor said still a number of journalists from various parts of tribal districts were Temporarily Displiced Person(TDPs). He said the current Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government issued two million rupees grants to each press club in merged districts.

He said the FM radio stations which were abandoned for years were reactiviated in most of the merged districts. He congratulated the tribal journalists for the revival of their union after ten years. 

Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif urged the journalists to play their due role in development of the merged districts. He pleged soon to start work on the construction of district press club in Landikotal. He said they would coordinate with various departments to arrange
