Six travellers died while five others sustained various degree of injuries in a fatal accident at Rama village, 12 kilometres away from the base of the FRSC on the Darazo -Bauchi Road.
Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in Bauchi State, Mohammed Biu, said the crash occurred on Saturday, 10th December 2022 at about 8:14 pm, adding that it was reported to the FRSC operatives in Darazo around 8:19 pm.
He said the command mobilised officers to the scene in less than five minutes, adding that both the dead and injured were evacuated around 8:26 pm.
Biu said that the crash involved two vehicles, an ash-colour Toyota commercial bus with registration number DRZ 356ZD and a blue Mercedes Benz commercial articulated trailer with no registration number, occupied by 12 male adults.
He identified excessive speeding as the cause of the accident.
