Traffic violation: Motorists, commuters to embark on 1week community service in Anambra

Anambra State government has advised motorists and commuters to always observe traffic rules and stop traffic obstructions especially on major highways in the state.

In a statement issued by the Commisioner for Transport, Afam Mbanefo, the government said failure to abide by the rules would attract one week community Service.

It also added that offenders would be prosecuted using Anambra traffic law while their vehicles would be impounded.

The statement read, “The State Ministry of Transport wishes to draw the attention of Ndi Anambra on the need to comply with traffic regulations at all times .

“All Commercial Vehicles, Motorists and the Public are advised to observe traffic rules and stop traffic obstructions especially on major highways in the state.

“These include parking, loading and offloading in unauthorised places; driving against traffic rules on the highways and observing traffic rules on the highways.

“All offenders will be prosecuted using Anambra traffic law and vehicles impounded in addition to one week Community Service.”
