Traffic violation: FRSC arrests 34, convicts 28 in Anambra

A total of 28 persons have been convicted by the Mobile Court of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State over various traffic offences in the statem

A statement from the Ag. Sector Public Education Officer said six of the offenders were discharged from the 34 arrested during a clamp down on recalcitrant Traffic violators.

He said, “As the lead agency in traffic management with the cardinal statutory responsibility of creating a safe motoring environment in Nigeria, FRSC Anambra State Sector Command held a Mobile Court at Awka to clamp down on recalcitrant Traffic violators.

“During the Mobile Court sitting in Awka, a total of thirty four (34) traffic Offenders were arrested and prosecuted in line with the dictates of the law. 28 Offenders convicted and 6 discharged accordingly.

“Total number of offences committed 69, most prevalent Offences were (LSV) Light Sign Violation (14) and (TYY) Driving with Worn-out Tyre or with out Spare Tyre (09).

“The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, Andrew Kumapayi says Mobile Court is one of the enforcement strategies FRSC uses to clamp down on recalcitrant Traffic violators to bring about sanity on our highways especially during this Ember Months period.”
