Traders Want Swift Clearance Process In Torkham 

TORKHAM: A joint meeting of government departments,traders and custom agents union was held at Torkham customs compound and discussed various issues including liason and cooperation to smoothly run the transportation from and to Afghamistan.

  Additional Collector of Customs Muhammad Rizwan chaired the meeting which attended by oficials of Federal Investigation Agency(FIA),police,anti-natcotics,dostrict administration and Torkham custom clearance agents.

The meeting was brief about the constraints and challenges being faced dye to various reasons. 
Custom officials saud trade activities severely affected due to the poor coordination and lack of communication between the traders and authorities. 
Transporters’ Union president Azeemullah explained about the problems being faced by truckers and traders. 

Detailed discussion was held regarding the problems and difficulties faced by the traders and truckers. They said slow documentarion process was one of the main hurdle that always delayed transportation from and to Afghanistan. 

Custom and other officials heard the participants and vowed to address theie problems one by one

The meeting participants also agreed to take practical steps to speed up customs clearance and increase bilateral trade including controlling the rush of vehicles.
