Three escape death as four vehicles collide in Anambra

Three people have narrowly escaped death following a collision that occurred between four vehicles at Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.

The accident which occurred at about 11:46am, Sunday 26 April, 2020 along the Nnobi – Nnewi road involved multiple vehicles and was attributed to over speeding.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Sector Public Education Officer, RC Pascal A. Anigbo confirmed the incident in a press release.

According to Anigbo, “the crash was caused by Speed Limit Violation and Loss of Control which involved Four Vehicles (a M/Benz Truck with registration number JJJ151XR and 2 TVS Tricycles both without registration numbers and a Yamaha Motorcycle, also without registration number)”.

“A total of three (3) male adults were involved in the crash. No death was recorded but one person sustained injury. The injured victim was rushed to Ejiofor Specialist Hospital Nnobi, by sympathizers, before the arrival of the FRSC rescue team from Nnewi Unit Command, he added”.

The FRSC Sector Commander in Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi has warned motorists against over speeding, noting that drivers should drive with common sense and limit speed, especially in busy areas.
