…abductors yet to contact relatives of the victims to demand for ransom
Forty four people have been abducted by bandits from Kanwa community in the Zurmi Local government Area of Zamfara State.
A source claimed that the bandits moved from house to house on Thursday night.
The source added that the community of late has experienced pockets of attacks by the bandits, lamenting that the situation has caused fear in the hearts of the residents.
A notorious bandit leader called Dankarami, according to our source, is alleged to have led the mass abduction of the people in the community.
He further explained that Dankarami has been terrorizing residents of Zurmi – Birnin Magaji – Jibia axis in Zamfara and neighbouring Katsina states, saying that his activities have caused serious setbacks in all spheres of life to the people.
The abductors have however not contacted the relatives of the victims to demand for ransom.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, Muhammad Shehu(SP) could not be reached for confirmation of the incident.
