FG pays conditional cash transfer to 29,202 vulnerable households in Imo

By: Ikechukwu Iweajunwa, Owerri Federal Government on Thursday paid Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) to 18 Local Governments in Imo, bringing the figure of total beneficiaries of the program to 29,202 across the state. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that CCT, also known as Households Uplifting Program (HUP)) is a federal government monthly stipend designed to support vulnerable households in the country being executed by the National Cash Transfer office. The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has reacted to the burning of his country home, saying the attack may have been politically sponsored. The DAILY VENDOR News had reported on Saturday that unknown gunmen in the early hours of Saturday attack governor Uzodimma's country home in Omuma, Orlu East Local Government of the state.
