People of Mmiata community in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra state have raised the alarm over alleged incessant attack on their Ebenebe farm settlement and the entire community by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The locals said the ugly development had compelled some of them to desert the community in droves. Addressing newsmen on Thursday in Onitsha, a youth leader, Obinna Chigbata, said the attack began early in the year when the herdsmen insisted on grazing in their farmlamd despite series of peaceful meetings held between the community and the herders. Travelers were on Saturday reportedly kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Delta State. Nasarawa state government has handed a seven days ultimatun to marauding Fulani herdsmen to leave the state or meet the full wrath of the law. Arising from a well attended security meeting with traditional rulers and security heads in Lafia, Governor Abdullahi Sule on Saturday warned that his administration could no longer tolerate the excesses of the armed herdsmen.
