17 suspects arrested for armed robbery, attempted murder in Enugu

Police operatives in Enugu State command have arrested seventeen suspected criminals. This fact was revealed in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Daniel Ndukwe (ASP). Ndukwe said that the recent operational breakthroughs recorded by operatives of the command which led to the successful arrest of fifteen15 male and two female criminal suspects for the offences of armed robbery, attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms, attempted vandalism amongst others. Transport operators with headquarters in Onitsha, Anambra state have lamented increasing cases of kidnapping and robbery attacks along major highways in the country, especially routes leading to Lagos, Abuja and parts of the North. The fleet operators, including luxurious buses commuter buses and executive Siena buses threatened to embark on a nationwide strike targeted at crippling the transport sector unless the insecurity on the highways were addressed. Police Parade 23 Armed Robbery Suspects In Ebonyi

The Ebonyi State Police Command on Friday said it arrested 23 suspected criminals terrorising the state, involvement in armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms. The Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State, CP Philip Sule Maku, while parading the suspects at the state police command headquarters located opposite Old Government House, Abakaliki, said the command was poised to ensure a crime-free state. According to him: “A total number of twenty-three suspects were arrested and hereby paraded while two (2) were fatally injured,” he said.
