Sympathizers donate to victims of Onitsha chemical explosion

…as more sympathizers continue to visit scene of the chemical explosion

More sympathizers have continued to visit scene of the chemical explosion that reportedly killed about seven people at the Onitsha Bridge head drug (Ogbogwu) market, Anambra State, about a week ego, and make donations to the victims.

Latest among the sympathizers was the member representing Onitsha North 2 constituency, in the State House of Assembly, under the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Hon. Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo, who is called ‘Liver to Deliver,’ by his admirers.

Ibuzo who is also the APGA candidate for Onitsha North and South Federal constituency in the Green chamber come 2023 general election, urged the victims to take heart even as he sympathized with  them over the unfortunate incident and loss to wares in the market.

He reiterated that as chairman, House Committee on Environment, in the Anambra State House  of Assembly, he would use his good offices to see that government brings solace to them and find a lasting solution to stop further reoccurrence of the incidence.

He however, sympathized with the market leaders and traders over the death of some persons and those who got injured during the ugly incident, praying for the peaceful repose of the souls of the dead persons and for God to give them the fortitude with which to bear the loss.

The lawmaker, while donating #100,000, and 20 cartons of bottled water, reiterated his resolve to ensure better welfare for the traders who he said now saw their members as their brothers’ keepers.

In his response, Chairman of the Bridgehead market, Hon Chinedu Ezekwuike, said the traders and himself appreciated Hon Ibuzo, for coming  to commiserate with the traders despite his tight schedules.

He pledged that all donations and contributions to the victims would get to them as they are presently in dare need of assistance to come ahead despite the unfortunate incidence.

Present during the visit included, Peter Okeke, Secretary, Norbert Okoli, financial ecretary, John Nwosu, assistant secretary, Odera Nwosu, member, Bonaventure Ucheagwu, provost, and comrade Peter Okala, Public Relations Officer, PRO.

On the lawmaker’s entourage included, Hon Chiejena Obieze, Senior Special Adviser, SSA, on Security, to Anambra State Governor, Hon Mofus Ezeoba, among others.
