SWAN Bauchi chapter calls for detachment of Wikki Tourist Football Club from state Ministry of Sports

Bauchi state chapter of the Sports Writer Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has called on the state government to detach Wikki Tourist Football Club of Bauchi state from the State ministry of Sports and move to the office of the Governor.

This was disclosed in a communique issued at the end of SWAN congress meeting held at the NUJ Secretariat on Thursday, expressing displeasure on the performance of Wikki Tourist Football Club in the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League “NPFL “season, despite government huge financial support.

According to the Communique, “we call on Governments to always appoint only people with sports background to heads sports Ministry, Department and Agencies”.

They also appealed for the reorganization of sporting associations to revival school sports and other sporting activities in the State.

SWAN therefore called on members of the association to be displined in their conduct while discharging their duties in state
