The Supreme Court has expressed dissatisfaction with the role of the Uttar Pradesh’s BJP led government in the Lakhimpur Kheri case. The apex court made it clear that the Uttar Pradesh government had not yet taken appropriate action in the case.
According to the court, the police did not show any activism in this incident like in the other five incidents. In this case, we just talked, but it didn’t work.
Four farmers were crushed to death by a wheelbarrow during a farmers’ protest in Lakhimpur Kheri last Sunday.
For this, the area became a battlefield. When the police went, the protesters surrounded the police and demonstrated their grivances. Mass beatings are also going on.
Four more people lost their lives in the midst of that violent situation. The Uttar Pradesh government’s investigation into the incident is extremely slow.
On this day, the Yogi Adityanath government had to be reprimanded in the Supreme Court. At the hearing of the case, Chief Justice NV Ramana commented, “The whole incident is very serious. We are not satisfied with the way the Uttar Pradesh government has handled the situation.”
The Chief Justice said, “The BJP led Uttar Pradesh government has not taken appropriate action in the case of the death of 6 people. The investigation did not proceed in that way at all. In other cases, the police would go to the spot and arrest someone. That did not happen in this case. ” We feel like, just talk, nothing worked.
The apex court is also not satisfied with the seat formed by the Yogi government in this case. The Chief Justice says, “We know about the Special Investigation Team (SIT). DIG, Superintendent of Police, Circle Officer, all local. All this happens when the locals investigate.”
Not only that, the apex court has also indicated that the CBI investigation in such cases is meaningless. Ashish Mishra Manu, son of Ajay Mishra, a BJP minister of Uttar Pradesh Government, the main accused in the case, has not yet been arrested.
The Supreme Court is also extremely dissatisfied with that. The Yogi government said Manu was summoned on Friday for questioning. He did not appear. He was summoned again on Saturday. Even if that day does not come, the way is open to take legal action against him.
