The Anambra State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano to expedite action towards equipping the isolation centers in the state.
This call was contained in a press release signed by the Publicity Secretary PDP in the state, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu made available to journalists in Awka.
Nwangwu said emphatically that isolation centers should not and must not be set up by merely saying so on air without corresponding actions to physically equip the centres.
The PDP image maker also said that the idea of having isolation centers in the existing hospitals with vulnerable patients is not acceptable.
“The standard health practice is that isolation centers are set up in secluded areas and not in the existing hospitals some of which already have large population of patients and staffs.” He explained.
Nwangwu also charged the governor, Chief Obiano to go for coronavirus test and come up with his status rather than just telling the people he is in self isolation.
“We have seen other governors in the country telling their people that they are going for coronavirus test and the results of such tests are made public, Obiano’s self style of going on self isolation without telling the people his coronavirus status leaves much to be desired.” He said.
The PDP however commended the governor for closing the boundaries of the state to prevent influx of people into the state even as the palliative put in place for the aged was also commended.
