LANDIKOTAL: A seminar, on career guidance, was arranged at the Government Higher Secondary School in Pendi Lalma far flung area of Landikotal in District Khyber on Saturday.
A large number of parents, studebts,civil society members, local elders and educationists attended the the seminar. Renowned education experts Dr.Waqar Ahmed was the chief guest.
Speakers said education department in Khyber planed this year to enrol 64,000 out-of-school children during the annual enrolment campaign under the banner of ‘Thaleem Da Tolo Da Para’ (education for all).They said every effort would be made to ensure that no school going child was missed during the campaign. They said provision of better facilities in government schools would be ensured in order to provide a conducive environment to students.
In this connection, the education department also arranged awareness walks in the three tehsils of Bara, Landi Kotal and Jamrud in order to spread the message about enrolment of children.
They urged parents, civil society and youth to help in achieving the desired target of the enrolment campaign as it would help increase the literacy rate in the district.
Principal of the school Muhammad Usman welcomed the guests and explained the aims and objectives of the seminar.
Dr.Imtiaz Khan explained the importance of various professional fields and said that in the present era, famous professors, doctors and athletes set clear goals in life and then worked hard day and night to achieve these goals.He said education was a ray of hope in the darkness of ignorance and deprivation.
Dr.Waqar Ahmed said that students should learn self-knowledge, search for personal qualities and set goals for the future in schools at the elementary level. He said work hard and study whatever field to adopt in practical life. He said to achieve goal students must dedicate their energy and time to touch the sky.
Siddiq Afridi explained the best method of attempting exams papers to grab top position.
At the end,the school principal handed over an honorary shield to the chief guest.
