Security operatives eliminate several gunmen, nab spiritual leader

Security forces have reported that several bandits were eliminated, and their camps destroyed, during clearance operations in Igabi and Chikun local government areas. 

The Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan, revealed this in a statement on Friday while giving update on security in the state.  

According to the statement, clearance operations were conducted in Faka, Katuka, Barebari and Maguzawa general areas, spanning Chikun and Igabi LGAs.

An unconfirmed number of bandits were sighted on the high ground across the Maguzawa river; they were engaged by a NAF attack helicopter, and neutralized. 

The statement explained that   the security forces conducted clearance patrols to Katuka, about 9km from Kangon Kadi in Chikun local government, adding  during the destruction of camps, one fleeing bandit was apprehended while Items recovered  include one Motorcycle, AK-47 rifle and 30 rounds of ammunition. 

The statement further maintained that during a subsequent clearance operation to Kangon Kadi and Barebari areas, one Rabi Hajiya Karime, the wife of a notorious bandit Zubairu, was apprehended, adding that a spiritual leader to the bandits, Malam Idrgis Audu and two suspected collaborators Adulrasheed Gambo Na Halima and Abubakar Idris Na Halima, were also arrested.

Some items recovered after dislodging and razing some bandit camps in Udawa general area of Chikun local government, the statement sated include some motorcycles, one AK47 rifle, some AK47 magazines, ammunition and drugs.
