The West Bengal’s Santaldihi Thermal Power Station ranked first in electricity generation in India. While another thermal power plant of the state, Bakreshwar is ranked as tenth in the whole country.
West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee on Thursday tweeted about the state’s success. The Chief Minister attributed the success to the amount of power generated by these power plants from April to August this year.
The Central Electricity Authority under the Union Ministry of Power keeps track of which centers are producing the most electricity in the country. They give the ranking of the power plants of the country.
According to the Central Electricity Authority, the Santaldihi thermal power plant under WBPDCL generated the most power from April to August among all the power plants in the country and again no doubt, it’s one of the greatest achievement of Indian state West Bengal.
According to the administration, the state is self-sufficient in power generation at the moment. Bengal is also giving extra power to other states. The success of these productions in Santaldihi and Bakreshwar shows that there is no shortage of electricity in the state, from industrial development to the work of the common man. Electricity has also reached the villages of the state.
According to sources, the generating capacity of the Santaldihi thermal power plant is 500 MW.
From April to August this year, the plant load factor or PLF was 92.89 percent. Earlier, from April to July, the Santaldihi center was number three in the country.
From April to August last year, the PLF was 69.63 percent. Which was ranked 31st in the country. From there, the center has moved to the first place in a year. .
The Bakreshwar Thermal Power Plant, which has the capacity to generate 1,050 MW of electricity, has risen from No. 22 last year to No. 10 this year, according to sources.
The state government has provided electricity to the poor people of the state at low prices. The farmers of the state get electricity at low prices for cultivation. Although the state government stands by the people, the central government has come up with an electricity amendment bill.
The Chief Minister of West Bengal has already protested that it is against the interest of the people. She made it clear that the new bill would create huge profits for the private sector, as well as impose additional financial burdens on poor consumers.
The manner in which a thermal power plant in the state has snatched the title of the best in the country has made it clear that West Bengal is the best in the country in terms of power generation as in many other fields. This recognition came from the Union Ministry of Power on this day.
The Chief Minister congratulated all those involved in power generation for this success.
