Sack Service Chiefs within 14 Days or Face Our Wrath – Students Tell Buhari

Nigerian students under the aegis of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) on Friday gave Buhari a 14-day-ultimatum or replace his service chiefs or face their wrath.

The students said the failure of the Federal Government to do sack the service chiefs would force them to ground the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, to ensure that the service chiefs either voluntarily resign or were sacked.

The National President of NAPS, Sunday Asuku, while addressing a press conference in Kaduna State on Friday, said the ultimatum became necessary because of the deteriorating security situation in the country.

Fox Channel had reported on 29 January that the Nigeria House of Representatives has called for the resignation of the service chiefs, failure of which President Muhammadu Buhari, should sack them.

This was part of the resolutions passed by the House at the plenary on Wednesday, following the unanimous adoption of a motion moved by the Chief Whip, Mohammed Monguno, on the continued attacks by Boko Haram insurgents on communities in the North-East.
