Rs730M worth Narcotics seized at Torkham border

PAKISTAN: Customs authorities at Torkham border foiled a bid to smuggle Ice drug and heron from Afghaniatan and arrested a peddler, officials said on Monday.

Custom collector Peshawar Amjadurehman told The News that they on the basis of tip off constituted a team led by additional collector Muhammad Tayyab and stoped an empty truck(1586-DMR) at Michni check post. He said they recovered 17.5 kilograms of Ice and 35 kilograms heroin drug from the hidden cavities of the truck. The driver identified as Sharif Gul,Afghan national,also arrested and sent him to jail. 

The custom official said that in the past two weeks they have seized 730 million rupees dofferent narcotics items at Torkham border.
