Rivers Police Commissioner Demands Wike Turn In Nunieh To The Command

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Mr. Joseph Gobum Mukan, has called on Governor Nyesom Wike to turn in former Interim Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Joy Nunieh, who is currently taking refuge at the Government House in Port Harcourt, to the command.

The Police boss called on the governor to hand over Nunieh while appearing on ARISE TV on Friday.

On Thursday, Wike had stormed the Port Harcourt residence of the ex-NDDC boss, rescued her from police siege and moved her to the state’s Government House.

Police operatives had surrounded Nunieh’s house on Thursday morning, preventing her from leaving her residence.

It was learnt the police later damaged the back door of the house, entered the kitchen and attempted to break the connecting door into her apartment.

However, before they could get to her, Governor Wike arrived with his security details from Government House.

Nunieh, recently has been embroiled in war of words with the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, and was to appear before the House of Representatives Committe probing the mismanagement of funds in the NDDC on Thursday.
