Rededicate yourselves to service, Enugu CP tells newly promoted officers

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman has called on the newly promoted officers of the Nigerian Police Force in Enugu to rededicate themselves to service and be responsive to the responsibilities of their new ranks.

AbdurRahman who decorated the sixteen officers from the command on Monday at the State Police Headquarters in Enugu, congratulated them on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, and charged them to see the promotion as an opportunity to re-dedicate themselves to serving the nation and humanity in general, while admonishing  the officers to shun acts of unprofessionalism, bribery and corruption.

This was disclosed to The DAILY VENDOR in press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, who confirmed that the decoration is sequel to the recent nationwide promotion of 6,601 officers of the Force.

Ndukwe said “The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman *MCPSS, MCJ, MNIM*, on Monday 20th July, 2020 at the Conference Room, State Headquarters, Enugu, decorated a total of sixteen (16) newly promoted Officers of the Command. The decoration is sequel to the recent nationwide promotion of 6,601 Officers of the Force.

“In his address, the Commissioner congratulated the promotees, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu *NPM, mni*, and charged them to see the promotion as an opportunity to re-dedicate themselves to serving the nation and humanity in general.

“He admonished them to shun acts of unprofessionalism, bribery and corruption, noting that they have to, more than ever, wake up and be responsive to the responsibilities of their new ranks, as “to whom much is given, much is expected.”

“In a vote of thanks, on behalf of the promotees, SP Linus Amadi thanked God Almighty for keeping them alive to experience promotion to the next rank. He also thanked the Police Service Commission and the IGP for finding them worthy of the elevation, promising they will be more dedicated and diligent in the performance of their duties so as to justify the promotion.

“Among those decorated include now SP Mohammed Ibrahim, Divisional Police Officer, 9th Mile Police Station, SP Lawrence Obodouzu, Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police and now ASP Kyrian Igwe, attached to Police Public Relations Department.

“On the whole, a total of thirteen (13) promotees were decorated with the new rank of Superintendent of Police from that of Deputy Superintendent of Police, while three (3) others were decorated with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police from the rank of Inspector.”
