No fewer than 200 Nigerians evacuated from the United Kingdom over two weeks ago have been confirmed COVID 19 negative.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known after a short protest by the returnees over the non-issuance of the result, even five days after the test was done.
The returnees had demanded to see a copy of their result, after they had spent the mandatory 14 days in isolation.
The failure to hand a copy of the test result to the them led to a protest at one of the isolated centres in Abuja on Saturday.
It was however gathered that it took the intervention of a senior police officer, DCP Basi, who called the NCDC before normalcy returned to the centre.
Officials of NCDC who later arrived the centre brought along the test results and clearance certificate which showed that all the UK returnees tested negative to the virus.
