The former chairman of Crystal Palace Simon Jordan says the Premier League’s summer spending outstripped their rival leagues around Europe by a considerable sum.
Jordan does not, however, believe the development will lead to English teams dominating European competitions such as the Champions League, Europa League, and the Conference League.
Premier League clubs spent £1.9billion, nearly as much as Serie A, LaLiga, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 combined. We have been spending more money here for the past 20 years!” Jordan pointed out.
“You had Man Utd, Chelsea and Forest recruiting as many players as possible but this did not mean English clubs would dominate Europe.” He insisted.
