Police rescue dying abducted man in Anambra car

A middle aged man was on Thursday rescued unconscious inside his car along akokwa road in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The victim was said to have been abducted by hoodlums who stabbed him and abandoned him inside his vehicle.

“The man must have been stabbed by his abductors following his refusal to contact his family members for ransom,” the source said.

Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga said the victim is currently receiving medical attention in a hospital he was rushed to, while the vehicle was recovered.

He said investigation has commenced.

He said, “Today 12/01/2023 at about 7am, Police operatives while on patrol along Uga, Akokwa road, rescued one abducted victim and recovered a Tacoma jeep with reg No KJA 22 GB along Uga Akokwa road.

“The Operatives sighted the motionless vehicle in a bush along Uga, akokwa, road opposite a fuel station. 

“The Police operatives approaching the vehicle discovered a man struggling for breath and with marks of violence all over his body.

“The victim has been taken to a hospital where he is currently receiving medical attention. Investigation into the incident has commenced and further details shall be communicated.”
