Police operatives deployed to Uzu Awka to prevent breach of peace – PPRO

The Anambra State Police Command says it deployed operatives to the residence of Augustin Ndigwe on Saturday to prevent break down of law and order.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, Tochukwu Ikenga (DSP) revealed this in a press release made available to THE DAILY VENDOR on Sunday.

Ikenga said “We wish to let the members of the public know especially Ndi Anambra that, the deployment of police operatives yesterday 10/9/2022 within the residence of Augustine Ndigwe in Awka, is to make sure there is no break down of law and order in Awka Community. This is following information of the intended celebration/occasion that poses threat to public peace/disturbance in the community.”

Ikenga said that a suspect, Nwokoye and five others who attacked the operatives are in police custody 

Adding that the suspects have been transferred to State Criminal investigations department for investigations.

The PPRO pointed out that the situation is being monitored and further development shall be communicated to the public.
