Police Officer Rescues Accident Victims, Pays Hospital Bills

A senior Police Officer and an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Eleme has received commendation for rescuing and taking care of accident victims he met on the way.

Ndigbo Elders’ Forum in a statement made available to newsmen lauded the Senior Officer for the humanitarian service.

Speaking when the group paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja, the President of NEF, Dede Uzor A Uzor, said the officer was returning to Abuja when he met some accident victims on the way.

The ghastly motor accident claimed the lives of three persons, while others sustained various degrees of injury.

ACP Eleme was said to have taken those who sustained injury to hospital for medical treatment as well as paid for the bills.

Dede Uzor said the humanitarian disposition of ACP Eleme, who is the Commander of Inspector- General of Police Monitoring Units (IGP), should be a challenge to every other policeman.

The group tasked other officers to take a clue from him by showing human kindness even while discharging their professional and official duties.

Dede Uzor said by the singular effort, NEF has nominated ACP Eleme for their Human rights award later this year.

The group urged the ACP to disregard some faceless individuals who sent spurious petition against him for releasing a suspect.

“You should take that as one of the sacrifices to pay in the service of this country.

“We urge you to continue to do your best for your country and humanity” said the Chairman of NEF.

He said their visit was also to commend him for his productiveness professionalism and maturity in handling public issues.

In his response, ACP Eleme thanked the members of the forum for making out time to visit him in his office.

He also thanked them for the little gesture he did to accident victims, saying that if given the opportunity, he would continue to do more.

He assured that he will continue to do justice to all manner of people irrespective of class, religion of tribes ethnic .
