Police nab suspected female murderer, accomplices, recover decomposed body in forest

Three persons, including a 23-year old woman have been arrested over alleged abduction and murder of one Henry Okam, aged 34 of Okija in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State.

The suspect was said to have buried the deceased in a shallow grave after killing him with a pomp action gun.

The DAILY VENDOR gathered that the decomposing body of the victim was exhumed in a thick forest in Ihiala by police operatives following confession by the suspects.

The Police spokesperson Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident, saying the corpse has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy after it was certified dead by a medical doctor.

He said the case was being investigated.

He said, “On the 5/9/2020 following intensive manhunt and actionable intelligence, police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) arrested the following syndicate: Obasi Faith Ezinne ‘f’ aged 23 years of Mbaitolu Imo State, Ntomchukwu Anabaraonye ‘m’ aged 33 years of Okija and Abuchi Obinna ‘m’ aged 26 years of Ihiala.

“Suspects had on the 30/8/2020 allegedly abducted one Henry Okam ‘m’ aged 34years of Okija in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State.They also killed the victim with a pomp action gun and subsequently buried him in a shallow grave.

“Meanwhile,the suspects who voluntarily confessed to the crime, took operatives to a thick forest in Ihiala where the decomposing body of the victim was exhumed and recovered to the mortuary for autopsy after it was certified dead by a medical doctor.

“Consequently, the pomp action used by the suspects in perpetrating the henious crime including the victim’s phones were also recovered in their posession and registered as exhibits.

“The Commissioner of Police, John Abang once again reiterates his clarion call that there is no hiding place for Criminals in Anambra State and that the Command under his watch will continue to fish out and deal decisively with criminal elements in accordance with the law until they repent or relocate from the State.”
