It said the state government, had through the move, shown genuine desire to stop the virus from spreading.

The body also praised measures being put in place for the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to approve the standard testing centers expected to be functional next week.

“Establishment of testing centers at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi will provide access for people living in the state to know their status for prompt medical attention if detected,” it said.

The body however called on the citizenry to always abide by all precautionary measures adopted in the fight against the virus, revealing that arrangements had been concluded for the distribution of COVID 19 hygiene materials to designated health facilities.
