Pak-Afghan officials, traders held meeting at Torkham border

‘Traders and Afghan border officials raised trade related issues‘

LANDIKOTAL: Border and custom officials held a meeting with traders and custom agents at Torkham border on Wednesday.

The meeting,which was chaired by director transit and trade Arbab Qaisar Hameed,was also attended by commandant Khyber Rifles Col,Rizwan, additional collector custom Muhammad Rizwan, Amanullah Khan, Major Sharjeel, FIA officer Shafqat Jamal,Pak-Afghan joint chamber of commerace senior vice president Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, transporters union president Azeemullah Shinwari. 

Afghan commercial attache’ in Peshawar consulat Waheedullah and Molvi Khaksar were also invited.

Speaking on the occasion, Arbab Qaisar said that the genuine problems of traders would be resolved on the priority basis. He said that it was the formost priority of customs to provide best possible facilities so that they could enhance trade ties with Afghanistan.

Ziaul Haq Sarhadi said a number of decision were taken in the meeting in to help business community. He said slow documentarion process and clearance at the Torkham border was the long standing issue of traders. 

Traders and Afghan border operatives raised trade related issues. They demanded of the officials to bring an ease in the border restrictions that negatively affected trade activities.

Customs and border officials assured the Afghan officials to work jointly in the best interest of both the borther countries.
