Pak-Afghan officials, traders hold meeting in Torkham

…As Pak-Afghan chamber representatives urge Afghanistan to increase coal export for Pakistan and reduce tax on it

TORKHAM: Pakistan and Afghanistan border officials and traders on Tuesday held a meeting at Torkham border and discussed various trade and vehicles movement issues on Torkham border.

Additional collector custom Muhammad Rizwan led the  Pakistani side. Pakistan custom, security forces officials, Major Sharjeel Farman,additional assistant commissioner Ashrafuddin,Pak-Afghan joint chamber of commerace representatives and traders also attended the meeting. 

Afghanistan delegation was headed by Qari Sabitullah while Afghan Torkham border security incharge Muslim Khaksar, Afghan custom manager Aminullah Hijar were also present in the meeting.

Pak-Afghan chamber representatives demanded of Afghanistan to increase coal export for Pakistan and reduce tax on it.  Afghan officials assured them for the fulfilment of their demands. 

Both sides agreed to expadite the flow of cargo vehicles clearance and movements on both sides. 

Pakistani border officials praised the Afghan police and border security personnel efforts taken for  against narcotics dealers and child labourers in Afghanistan. 
Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to enhance bilateral trade and take steps to bring an ease for export and import between the tow countries. 

All Qabail Jirga sit-in continue on third day: Qabail elders,youth,cuvil society members,journamists,teachers and bisiness community members from all tribal districts participating in the sit-in camp established at Jamrud bypass road. 

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Asghar Afridi,Dawood Qabailistani  Malik Wazir Sher Khankhel, Afrasiyab Afridi, Malik Abduzahir Kokikhel,Malik Asmatullah and oteers said they would not accept the onesided Fata merger. 

They said non of the pledge made at the time of merger could not fulfilled. They announced blockade of Pak-Afghan highway in Jamrud and urged all tribals to participate with them in the sit-in camp. They said their protest and sit-in camp would be continued till the goverent not reverse the Fata merger decision.
