One Killed in Torkham Gun fire, Heroin Seized 

LANDIKOTAL: An Afghan citizen was killed while few others including a Pakistani paramilitary soldier sustained bullet wounds when an Afghan border police opened gun firing to dispersed the mob gathered on the Torkham border inside Afghanistan,official sources said on Thursday. 

The sources said that an Afghan border police opened gun firing when dozens of truck drivers and their crew members were protesting for the hard and fast border conditions for truckers to cross the Torkham border. He said the Afghan police shots several gun fires and as results an Afghan citizen,whoes name could not be ascartained, was killed on the spot and few others injured at afghan side of the Torkham border. A bullet also came into Pakistani side of the border that hit a Frontier Corps(FC) soldier who was on duty at Torkham border Zero point.He was rushed to Combined Military Hospital in Landikotal where he was stated out of danger. 
As the incident happened,Pakistani border authorities closed the border to avoid further mishap. A large number of loaded and empty vehicles stranded on both sides of the border while hundreds of passengers had to wait on the border for a brief time. 

Later, Pakistani authorities reopned the border for all kinds movement across the border. 

*Narcotics seized:* Police on the directives of Station House Officer(SHO) of Landikotal Malik Akbar Khan Afridi stopped a truck at Michni police check post and recovered heroin from its hidden cavities. 

Michni police check post incharge assistant sub-inspector Qamar Abbas told The News that a truck( KBL-77437) coming from Afghanistan was stopped at Michni police check post some three kilometers from Torkham border and searched. He said they recovered 50 kilograms of heroin from the hidden cavities of the truck.He said the seized heroin was tried to smuggle to Pakistan from Afghanistan.

Truck driver identified Noorullah,resident of Afghanistan, and the truck were confiscated and FIR registered for further investigation.
