A pillion has died in a lone fatal motorcycle crash by SARS office, Awkuzu in Oyi local government area of Anambra State on Christmas day.
The Anambra State FRSC Public Education Officer (PEO) Florence N.Edor(SRC) said that at about 11.30 am on Christmas day, an unidentified Cater Motorcycle Rider with registration number PMG259QA had a lone crash by SARS Office at Awkuzu junction.
She said that reports indicated that two male adults on a motorcycle had a lone crash as a result of excessive speeding and lost control.
One of the victims sustained varying degree of injuries and was taken to Chira hospital by FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command.
The pillion was also taken to the same hospital and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
The Anambra State Sector Commander of FRSC Andrew A Kumapayi(CC) has sent his condolences to the deceased family and wishes the injured accelerated recovery.
He warned motorcycle riders to avoid excessive speeding because speed trills but kills, as they are exposed road users and willl be more affected in any crash.
He also advised them to ensure that they use crash helmet to avoid head injury when there’s crash.
