Obiano to restart economic activities in Anambra, begins training of Markets & Parks COVID 19 Task Force

Anambra State government has commenced the training of Markets and Parks COVID-19 Task Force members as earlier stipulated by the governor of the state, Dr Willie Obiano ahead of next week’s re-opening of major Markets in the State.

The training which took place at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre Awka had in attendance the Task Force members from the major markets in the State as well as top government officials.

The training which started Wednesday 29th had task force members of all the sixty three major markets in the state.

Speaking during the training, members of the task force, secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu said that the task force team will ensure that all markets are orderly and also keep to World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) COVID 19 preventive guidelines.

Also speaking, the Anambra State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Uchenna Okafor, stressed that any market that failed to obey or follow the preventive guidelines will be shut down immediately, as government is highly determined to ensure that the state does not record any case of COVID 19 again.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okplala equally trained the participants on basic medical hygiene, mode of transmission and best preventive measures.

Others present at the training were the Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on General Hospital, Mrs. Nwamaka Arinze, the Special Assistant to the governor on Market Affairs, Mr. Sunday Nwasah as well as an official of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and representative of NGOs.
