Obiano hails IPOB over sit-at-home cancellation

Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano has commended the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for not only rescinded its decision to prevent people from voting in the election but also urged voters to come out in droves.

Obiano made the commendation in a statement issued by his Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba,

The secessionist group had called off its earlier one week sit-at-home order slated from November 5 to 10, 2021, citing intervention of elders, traditional and religious leaders, as well as appeals by mothers who earned their daily living from proceeds of their businesses as reason.

The governor requested registered voters in the State to turn out not only in large numbers for the Saturday gubernatorial election in the state but do so early.

Obiano explained that an early turnout has become necessary because voting will close at 2.30pm, assuring the people that the voting would be peaceful, free and fair.

“The IPOB leadership deserves commendation for listening to the cries of not only ndi Anambra but also other concerned persons from all over the Southeast and beyond, including traditional, religious and civil leaders.
