Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Anambra State Command has called on those planning to disrupt the forthcoming elections to have a rethink to as not to regret their actions.
Commandant, Isidore Chikere gave the warning during the combined team of security agencies in Anambra State “Operation Show of Force”to reassure residents of their protection as part of confidence building measures in the run up to the forthcoming elections.
He said all security agencies in the state were synergising to arrest and bring to book, any person or group wanting to foment trouble and cause breach of peace in the State.
Commenting on the essence of the exercise, Comdt. Isidore said it was part of the strategy mapped out to ensure successful conduct of Saturday February 25th Election and the subsequent one in March. He assured that adequate necessary measures have been put in place to ensure voters exercise their franchise without fear.
According to him , personnel of the Corps have been on foot patrolling and area domination under their respective jurisdictions while surveillance in strategic locations have been intensified.”
