NSCDC pledges maximum protection to Ojukwu varsity students

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has pledged to give maximum security support and cooperation to  Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State towards strengthening security architecture in the University.

State Commandant, Maku Olatunde gave the assurance on Wednesday while hosting Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha at the State Command Headquarters Awka. 

He assured the Vice Chancellor that the NSCDC, the lead agency statutorily responsible for protecting all critical national assets and infrastructure (CNAI) would intensify security surveillance in the institution to ward off criminals.

He further pledged the Command’s readiness to provide all the necessary support to bring forth premium security standards within the university premises.  .

He said, “The NSCDC holds the university in high esteem hence our willingness to partner and consolidate on the existing cordial relationship. 

“The NSCDC as the lead agency in the federal government ‘Safe School  Project, is working tirelessly with all stakeholders including other sister security agencies to provide security for staff and students as well as property of all educational institutions. 

Earlier, Acting Vice Chancellor Omenugha commended the State Commandant for his support to the University, which necessitated her visit to sustain the existing relationship between the NSCDC and COOU.

She appreciated the State Commandant for his tireless efforts in restoring peace to residents of the state, soliciting robust external security presence of NSCDC in the institution. 

“NSCDC has always been our dependable partner, this visit therefore is in line with my desire to strengthen the existing bonds between us,” she said.
