NSCDC management team in a capacity training for competency

The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Isidore C Chikere has assured officers of continued capacity building training.

Speaking at the opening of one day capacity building training workshop for the  commands’ Management team held at the State Command Headquarters Awka, Comdt Chikere said the Corps will keep on  conducting different trainings to enhance officer’s capacity. 

“Conducting different courses for officers and men is an obligation in order to develop competency. The Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR  has made it a priority to provide the essential leadership and managerial skills to fulfill your roles with competence and greater confidence. 

“It  is important for me to ensure that my management team are all on the same page with regards to developing a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding lives and properties of citizens. 

“This training therefore seeks to  provide the necessary skills for you to operate efficiently”

Comdt. Chikere stated that law- enforcement requires constant learning, re- evaluation and upskilling of personnel to be up to par with the latest developments in security issues.

He urged the participants to fully take advantage of the training since it would enhance thier capabilities translating to better service delivery in their respective departments and units. 

The one day training facilitated by Deputy Commandant Francis Obinna Nnadi covers many topics including Profiling and strategic leadership for success in an unknown tomorrow, intelligence and information gathering,  communication skills, transformation management skills, importance of teamwork, quality leadership  and conflict resolution. 

Deputy Commandant Anyanwu Kennedy, Head of training department,  who spoke on behalf of other participants expressed gratitude to the State Commandant for the training which will  ultimately provide an overall improvement in the service provided to the public with the knowledge gained.
