The Provost of College of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Anambra state Professor Okwudili O. Udemezue is dead.
The death of the Provost has thrown the college community into mourning.
Prof. Udemezu reportedly died at the Isolation Center of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.
The late Provost who died this morning was said to have been down of coronavirus close to a week now.
Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Joe Ugboaja, confirmed the death of the Provost.
He however said although symptoms of Covid-19 was suspected, he could not confirm he died of the virus as the sample of the test was still being awaited.
“Since the sample test result is not yet out, it cannot be confirmed that Prof. Udemezu died of coronavirus,” he said.
Also confirming the report, the Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Chika Eneh said the institution was yet to receive the proper report of death.
