Gunmen in the wee hours of today raided Avong Doka village in Kajuru local Government Area of Kaduna state killing nine persons.
Though the police haven’t confirmed the killing but the chairman of the local Government Cafra Cairo told newsmen that the gunmen attacked the village in the early morning of Wednesday 3rd June killing nine persons.
He said the casually would have been much but for the timely intervention of the military who responded swiftly ensured that attackers ran away .
The Local Government Chairman quoting an eye witness account said the gunmen were heavily armed and they slipped into the village in the dark of the day and started shooting sporadically at all those that came across their way.
But the military responded quickly and chased them away but non of them was apprehended.
The local government boss said that the military is situated in strategic places in the village now and calm has returned to the community.
It would also be recalled that barely a week now that same local government was invaded by gunmen who burnt several houses and destroyed so many properties in Agwalq Dutse village and no arrest have been made.
The southern Kaduna area of the state have been witnessing gunmen attack of recent despite the COVID 19 lockdown.
About two weeks ago there was an attack in Godogodo village in Jamaa Local Government where two people were Killed also.
