Nigeria’s unity a collective responsibility – NYSC Coordinator

…reminds corps members that maintaining Nigeria’s unity is a shared responsibility

Anambra State Coordinator, National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Ekene Iruma has reminded corps members that maintaining Nigeria’s unity is a shared responsibility, with a role for them to play.

Iruma stated this at the cultural carnival of the 2022 Batch “C” Stream One corps members held at Nnamdi Azikiwe Unity Permanent Orientation Camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area of the state.

She said the cultural carnival, which she said has become a ritual, has continued to provide a platform to bring corps members together to enable them appreciate the beauty, gains and strength of the country in its diversity.

She described people of the state as accommodating, just as she commended government and security agencies for their numerous supports to both the scheme and corps members.

“We thank the state government for the sustained relationship and support to the scheme, especially in providing security to the NYSC and corps members serving in the state.

“We believe that the governor will sustain the gesture to enable the state continuously enjoy the benefits of the scheme,” she added.

The event witnessed various performances by different cultural groups, martial arts, sack race, thread in the needle, catching the rain, filling the can, among other activities.
